Final KidzClub

Tonight! Wednesday, April 25 will be the last KidzClub of the year. It has a been another wonderful year  teaching our children about the love of Christ through God's Word.

Our final night will be an all out fun fest that your kids will not want to miss.... the ice cream truck and crazy hair! If you do not want your children to come home with neon hair, please remind their teachers.

This year KidzClub took on a slightly new format, and we hope your children enjoyed the change!

Thank you for bringing your children each week and allowing us the opportunity to spend time teaching them about Jesus and His love for them. We hope your children gained a deeper understanding of what an AMAZING God we serve through hearing Bible stories, singing songs, playing games, and creating crafts. Many of the children in KidzClub also participated in service projects and raising money for missions.

We look forward to next year's KidzClub, and hope you will think about joining the fun!

Volunteer Sunday

That’s right! It is one of our favorite Sundays!  Many of you will volunteer again (thank you) or for the very first time to serve in the Children’s Ministry.  It is always exciting to see who God will use over the summer to draw our children to Him . There are many fantastic ways for you to be involved this summer. It only requires a few hours, but those few hours can make a lasting impact in the lives of our children!

Please sign-up this Sunday, April 22 to help with one or more of the great opportunities below… have the joy of watching our children see the love, mercy, grace, and goodness of our Lord!

KOALA KIDS

Rising 4K – Rising 5K kiddos (too cute!)
We need a volunteer to read the Bible story & help with some FUN games.  Both of which are already planned.

OUTBACK

We need volunteers to sit with these kiddos & make sure during their discussion time they have understood the morning’s lesson.  ALSO, great opportunity to use your secret acting skills!

Congratulations Communicants!

On Sunday, April 22, in the second service, our sixth grade
Communicants Class will make their public profession of faith,
take their church membership vows and participate in their first
communion. This is a big day for them and their families, and it comes
after quite a bit of work on the Communicant’s part. A Communicant
is simply one who is seeking “communing” membership at
Covenant Presbyterian Church. Communing members are those who have made
a profession of faith in Christ, have been baptized, and have been
admitted by the Session to the Lord’s Table. In turn, those who have
done these things are then entitled to all the rights and privileges of
the church.

Since February, our Communicants have been engaged in teachings
on topics such as the church, sacraments, government and general
distinctives of our faith. They have taken a test on the material
and have been interviewed by an Elder. On Sunday night, April 15,
Covenant hosts the Communicants’ Class and their parents at a meal
in their honor. At the conclusion of the evening, the Communicants
will be presented to the Session for membership.

We congratulate these Sixth Graders and their families!

Pastor to Children & Families

Welcome to the CovPres Children’s Ministry Blog

This is blog launch day!  It’s a huge day for us as we take another step to serve our children & families.  Through timely dissemination of information, easy availability to ministry schedule and access to family resources we hope that our blog will be of tremendous help to you.  I hope that you will subscribe to it, so that you may be continually informed of all the happenings in the ministry like important church and community events, changes in logistics, curriculum updates and valuable resources that will be of assistance to you as you continue to build a strong family.

Please notice the header at the top of the blog homepage.  It highlights a verse of Scripture that is very important to us.
“Oh Lord, please open his eyes, that he may see.”  2 Kings 6:17
This verse constitutes the turning point of an Old Testament story that can carry a powerful application with regard to the eyes of our very own children.  Please read the story in its entirety from 2 Kings 6:8-23 OR read the children’s Bible story, Horses and Chariots of Fire, I wrote about it (for older children) from the Bible Story. (Click on Horses and Chariots of Fire to access the story).

A main purpose of our team here at CovPres is to be used by God to overcome one of the most prevailing problems in children’s ministry today.  That problem is the blindness of our children to the spiritual world.  Our children read about it, they hear about, and even talk about it.  But do they truly see it?  It is our desire that they gain eyes to see what God has done for them through the birth, life, death, resurrection and reign of King Jesus.

Jesus is real, we want our children to see!
